During my three years of studies at the University of Applied Sciences I have acquired the fundamental basis of my service knowledge, which is 100% integrated into my work experience.
Semester abroad at the Leeds Metropolitan University (today Leeds Becket) with the specialization on Digital Images.
Five-year training as a professional electrical engineer specializing in information technology (operating systems, IP networks, electrical circuits).
Work as a supporter and workflow designer for the Adobe project management tool Helmut4. An extremely exciting and varied job, where you have to deal with a wide variety of TV stations and you work hand in hand with them on the integration of Helmut.
As a creative video producer one of my passions was always towards engineering. For almost 4 years I‘m working hand in hand with my colleagues from production, playout, digital & many other departments to provide and support them with a rock-solid "production environment knowledge“ & emergency support. Some recent projects: Adobe PAM system, AWS Live environment, IP KVM system, planning & realization of a new TV studio and first steps into automation towards a simplified TV-news control room.
For more than 10 years I‘m running a full-service video production which‘s main focus is in producing B2B/B2C videos, advertisement, magazine/editorial and music videos.
One of my key skill is to develop in close feedback loops with my clients, tailored productions towards their expectation and technical requests like audio loudness towards EBU-R128 and colour grading following ITU-R BT.709.
Working as cinematographer and DIT (Digital Image Technician) for ProSieben‘s (Pro7) main magazin/casual programmes taff & red!. I was travelling as part of a 2-3 person production crew, covering exciting stories on occasionally hotspots in the USA (Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas) but also in exotic places like Iceland. We were shooting weekly 50-minute program (5 days @ 10“) for special tv-event slots like the Oscar.
For a dramatic cinematic video impression, most of the productions have been filmed in C-LOG/S-LOG3, with an aperture (f2.8 and even more wider). With this we were able to produce very strong depth of field effects which drove the story telling even further. For broadcasting the production series have been graded to a REC.709 color space video for DVB.
During this 3 year work period I had the splendid chance to produce (as an ENG camera operator & post-pro cutter) a lot of content, mainly for Austria’s politic & information channel ORF III. This time was very inspiring as I was eligible to film a lot of interviews of contemporary witnesses of WWII and the re-establishment of the Austrian republics.
We have been specialised in filming multicamera (mixed HD & UHD setup) interviews with green screen backgrounds and also with low key profile as those were mainly used for historical archives.
